Gossamer Dreams, for horn and piano

Brent was fortunate to meet hornist Ab Pack in 2023 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she was premiering his Suite for Flute, Oboe, Horn, and Piano. Their friendship resulted in “Gossamer Dreams,” a one-movement composition for horn and piano. The work explores both technical and lyrical qualities of the horn, supported by a syncopated accompaniment. Although the title might evoke images of ethereal cobwebs of light, the work is actually named after Brent’s beloved and highly-active Jack Russell, Gossamer.
