WindStorm was written by Matthew C. Haislip in 2024 as a commissioned composition for solo bass trombone for Jason Beghtol, bass trombonist of the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Director of Bands and Brass Instructor at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
The piece features two contrasting sections that explore the expressive and powerful capabilities of the bass trombone. The listener is plunged on a ride through a typical storm that Mississippians experience year-round; the deceptive serenity of a still day followed abruptly by a wave of violent gusts, pouring rain, and thunderous lightning continuing relentlessly throughout the night. WindStorm was premiered by Dr. Jason Beghtol in recital at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Remember, it does not matter which type of customer or user you are, you are not permitted to share digital download files.
Sharing downloads is similar to photocopying and sharing music. It's not permitted in any circumstance. When you buy a download, it is for your personal use in performance. If it contains parts, then you may share the parts among your ensemble members but they may not keep them or use them unless they are performing with you. The key is: you bought the music and you must be involved in the performance. This also applies to music libraries. If a music library wishes to purchase a download and lend it, then it must print out the music in a single copy just as if they had purchased a print edition. The single print copy may be loaned out per library rules, but the digital version may not. Multiple copies may not be made for loan, either. If a printed version is lost or stolen, then the library must buy another copy, either print or digital, just as if the edition was a print edition. Sharing digital files is distribution, and unlicensed distribution is prohibited. And we thank you for your cooperation! |
