Stephen Loikith

Stephen Loikith is a semi-professional French hornist and musicologist based in the Boston area of Massachusetts. Stephen started playing the trumpet in 4th grade, eventually moving to the French horn in high school. Since then, he has played in several symphony orchestras, opera productions, and chamber groups. Most recently, he played French horn in the Sudbury Savoyards production of Princess Ida in February/March, 2024.
As a musicologist, Stephen’s research has focused on the natural horn in the early 18th century and the music of George Frideric Handel. He has also done presentations on the music of the Puritans in Massachusetts and the Revolutionary War. Additionally, he is working on cataloging the music of 20th century Sicilian-American composer Salvatore Arnó (1884 – 1963). Stephen graduated cum laude from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA with a BS in Music Education and from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA with an MFA in Musicology. |
