Waltz for Maya, for tuba and harp

“When Jim approached me to do a piece for him with an unusual instrumentation, a harp and tuba combination didn't leap to my mind immediately.  However, I had just recently completed an entire Christmas album for harp and had also written a piece for Jim's TubaChristmas group.  It was right around Christmas when I was writing so.... Waltz for Maya is a simple lullaby celebrating the birth of Jim's first granddaughter and is a showcase for his huge and warm sound on his big double C tuba.”
