Escapade, for horn and piano
by Gina Gillie
$23
Escapade was originally commissioned by Eric High and written for Contrabass Trombone. The piece, which paints scenarios involving excitement, daring, and adventure (the definition of "escapade"), was so much fun that the composer decided to arrange it for horn, using mainly the low and middle registers of the instrument. While most high-energy action music uses 4/4 time signatures, here the use of 5/4 gives an off-kilter groove to the piece.
