Michael Donovan
- Bay State Sonata, for horn and piano
A thirty year veteran of the United States Air Force Band Program, Major Donovan was the Commander of the 567th AF Band from 1992-2002. He earned a B.A. in Music Education from Berklee College of Music, and holds a Masters in Composition from Boston Conservatory. Mr. Donovan continued post graduate studies at New England Conservatory with Michael Gandolphi. In 2009, Mr. Donovan retired from his position as Director of Fine Arts for the Saugus MA Public Schools. In early 2015 Donovan was selected as “Composer in Residence” with Cape Cod Concert Band. Mr. Donovan is an active composer writing for Concert and Jazz Band, Orchestra, Brass Quintet, and solo works. Now twice retired, Mr. Donovan spends is time honoring commissions, guest conducting, and performing in both Florida and Massachusetts.
