Tom Nelson

Tom Nelson, freelance pianist, bandleader, composer, and arranger, has been active in the New York metropolitan area since 1982. Tom has performed with jazz artists Bobby McFerrin, Will Lee, Billy Hart, Junior Cook, Walter Perkins, Mel Lewis, Marc Johnson, Bob Belden; Broadway artists Ann Reinking & Lea Salonga; and tap dancers Arthur Duncan, Bob Audy, and Jerry Ames.

Tom completed his Bachelor of Jazz Studies at University of North Texas, and his Master of Jazz Composition at the Manhattan School of Music.  His discography includes four albums in a variety of genres.  Tom has written multiple works for jazz orchestra, string quartet, and many other ensembles, as well as soundtracks for a documentary film and musical theater.
