Variations, for brass quintet

Variations was written for and commissioned by the Chestnut Brass Company in 1988. The work is a set of continuous variations (with introduction). During the fall of 1996, I made extensive changes to the work — the perspective of 8 years helped “revise” my thoughts on the piece and its overall structure. Variations is dedicated with great respect and admiration to the Chestnut Brass Company. - Paul Basler
